when you are an angel momma I believe your job becomes not allowing them to be forgotten. You share the memories you had with them often. You wait to hear their name said. When someone mentions his name, Mark, Jack, a tear may show up, but it is because in my head in my heart I am so thrilled that someone besides me remembers him, think of him, smiles because of who he was. It doesn’t remind me of his death. I can promise you I did not forget it just lets me know that you remembered that he lived, and anyone who knew him knew that he definitely lived. So when people don’t say his name, don’t tell all the stories it’s like they have forgotten my son, my everything.
sometimes it feels like that, like everyone forgot him except for me. I am aware that it is painful for people, My family, his close friends. And I guess there is that selfish part of me that thinks he was my son my only son and though I understand that it is painful for you. Can you imagine how painful it is for me to believe he has been forgotten. Very early in my process of grieving I was angry very angry at family members who did not want to even say his name. To me it was just downright hurtful. Now, when they don’t mention him, I just feel sad for them. They are missing out on some amazing memories that they had with him. They don’t think about him as often as they should. He was a force, he was funny, kind, loving, and well, he was Mark Jack. And to forget him is silly, stupid, sad but the ones who have I just feel sorry for.
